Crestron home control
Boston Automations is an authorized Crestron dealer serving Greater Boston from our headquarters in Norwood. We design, install and program Crestron Home systems for large homes that need custom control of lighting, shades, audio, video, climate and security from touch panels, keypads and the Crestron app.
Crestron is a good choice when a house has a lot of rooms, a lot of systems and clear ideas about how they should behave. Very large homes with dozens of rooms benefit from its consistent control. Owners who want wall-mounted touch panels in the main rooms often choose it, and so do people who need a home office that works like a corporate meeting room.
For many homes, Savant or Control4 is a better fit, and we're an authorized dealer for both. We'll tell you honestly which one suits your house.
Crestron Home controls lighting, motorized shades, whole-home audio, video in every room, the media room, climate, cameras, door locks and security. You can use touch panels, keypads, a remote or the app. When a home uses Lutron lighting and shades, Crestron can control those too.
Crestron systems lean hard on the home network, because touch panels, cameras, audio and video all depend on it. We plan the wired and wireless network before we program anything, and we document the system so it's easy to support later. See our home Wi-Fi and networking services for how we approach it.
Plenty of people around Boston now run real businesses from home. Crestron can run the displays, cameras, microphones and lighting in a home office or meeting room from the same system as the rest of the house. One touch starts the call and sets the room.
Day to day, Crestron should feel simple. A touch panel in the kitchen shows the rooms you use most, and a keypad by the bed turns off the whole house. Guests can use a handheld remote in the media room without learning anything. All the deep programming stays behind the scenes, so the family only sees the buttons they need.
Our Crestron work is in private homes, and those clients asked us to keep it confidential, so we don't publish names, photos or addresses for it. We're happy to talk through comparable projects in person, and you can see our other finished homes in our project portfolio.

Crestron Home is Crestron's platform for houses. It runs lighting, shades, audio, video, climate and security from touch panels, keypads, remotes and an app.
It depends on the size of the house and how much custom programming you want. Crestron gives the deepest custom programming and suits very large homes with specific needs. Savant fits large homes where a simple app comes first, and Control4 covers a wide range of homes. We're an authorized dealer for all three and will recommend one after we see the house.
