Boston Automations is an authorized Control4 dealer serving Greater Boston and the South Shore from our headquarters in Norwood. We design, install and program Control4 systems that run lighting, shades, music, TVs, climate, cameras and locks from one app, a remote or a touchscreen. Control4 works for a wide range of homes, from a city condo to a large new build in the suburbs.

Control4 puts the systems in your home on one platform. One remote runs the TV and the surround sound. A keypad by the door turns off every light in the house. The app on your phone shows the cameras, sets the thermostats and locks the doors.
Scenes tie it all together. A movie night scene can dim the lights, lower the shades and turn on the projector with one press.
Control4 suits families who like a real remote in their hand and homes that will grow one room at a time. It also works with a long list of other products, which helps when you already own equipment you want to keep.
Control4 remotes are a big reason families like it. Kids and grandparents can pick one up and watch TV without learning an app, and the same remote can dim the lights or close the shades. We're an authorized dealer for Savant and Crestron too, so if another platform fits your house better, we'll tell you.
South Shore homes range from restored older houses to new builds near the water, and Control4 handles both. In an older home, wireless Control4 devices let us add control without opening finished walls. In a new build, we wire while the walls are open so keypads, speakers and equipment go exactly where they should.
At Manomet Point in Plymouth, we brought a Queen Anne restoration up to date with Control4 lighting control, a surround sound receiver for the media setup, Sonance distributed audio, battery backup for the equipment and contact sensors.
Control4 also runs our Little Compton project in Rhode Island, where it controls Lutron lighting and shades. You can see more in our project portfolio.
Awards and recognition
The Staycation Estate won CE Pro 2026 Home of the Year Gold for Best Whole-House/Smart Home Under $1M, and its home theater won Bronze for Best Home Theater Over $100,000. We also received the 2024 Sonance Project of the Year and a 2024 Lutron Excellence Award with Hall of Fame induction, and we're Cinergy Certified.
South of the city we install Control4 in Hingham, Cohasset, Duxbury, Plymouth and the towns around our Norwood headquarters. Closer in, we work across Boston, Cambridge and Brookline, and west in Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Lexington, Concord, Dover and Sherborn.

It depends on the house. Control4 fits a wide range of homes and works with a long list of products, and Savant tends to suit larger homes where a very simple app comes first. We're an authorized dealer for both and will recommend one after we walk through your house.
Yes, Control4 connects to Lutron lighting and shades, so the same keypads and scenes run both. Our Little Compton project in Rhode Island uses that setup.
Yes, many Control4 devices are wireless, so we can add control to a finished home with very little wall work. A new build gives you more options because we can wire while the walls are open.
